There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to sleep.
